About the Bulgarian Lev
The Bulgarian “lev” (plural: levove/leva) is the official currency used in the country of Bulgaria. Its official currency code is “BGN” and it is symbolized by “лв”. The primary denominations include 1, 2, 5, 10, 50 stotinki (coins); 1 lev coins (1 lev = 100 stotinki); and 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 lev paper bank notes. In Bulgaria, decimal numbers are denoted using a comma (e.g. 1,50). The lev has a fixed exchange rate with its value pegged to the Euro (the country will eventually adopt the Euro as part of its membership in the European Union).
