The Turkish “lira” (plural: n/a) is the official currency used in the country of Turkey as well as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Its official currency code is “TRY” and it is symbolized by a “TL”. The primary denominations include 5, 10, 25, 50 kurus coins; 1 lira coins (1 lira = 100 kurus); and 5, 10, 50 lira paper bank notes. In Turkey, decimal numbers are denoted using a comma (e.g. 1,50). The lira has a floated exchange rate.
